Goodbye to 24

Earlier in the year, Los Angeles Lakers shooting guard, Kobe Bryant, announced that this season in the NBA would be his last. Wearing the number 24 jersey, Bryant also known as the Black Mamba, brought much skill to the game and is known as one of the best. Over a 20 year career span he has helped the Lakers win five championships as well as being apart of 18 All- Star Teams. He was quoted saying “this season is all I have left.” If you still haven’t realized how incredible Kobe Bryant is as a player, here are some stats. He is one of ONLY four players in NBA History with 25,000 points, 6,000 rebounds and 6,000 assists in his career. He also has an NBA MVP, two Olympic gold medals and an 81 point game that ranks second all time in NBA history. He is currently ranked third on the NBA All Time scoring list. That is MAJOR.

Another person wearing the number 24 jersey leaving the game is Seattle Seahawks running back, Marshawn Lynch. Lynch also known as Beat Mode played in the NFL for nine seasons. In my personal opinion nothing beats the way he announced he was going to retire. It is a known fact that Lynch does what he wants, that was evident last season through his press interviews. During Super Bowl 50 with about 6 minutes left in the game he drops a picture on his twitter account @MoneyLynch (see below).

No words necessary, just a picture of cleats hanging from telephone wires and the peace sign emoji. Classic. Lynch will be leaving the game as a legend. In two consecutive seasons he led the league in rushing touchdowns and was seen as the best running back in football. He was a five time Pro Bowl and one time All Pro selection. In his career he has rushed 9,112 yards and has 74 touchdowns.

These two giants will definitely be missed.
